Quickture v1.5.1 is here: Vision Editing, Story Engine 2, and a rebuilt Premiere Pro workflow

Today we're shipping Quickture v1.5.1, the most substantial update we've released to date. This version introduces a fully rebuilt story engine, brings vision editing to the platform, and overhauls our Premiere Pro workflow from ingest through edit. Alongside the headliners are dozens of improvements to search, transcripts, and project management that editors have been asking for.

Here's what's new.

Vision Editing

Vision Editing is finally here. Quickture understands what's in your footage and assembles cuts that combine dialogue and visuals, or builds visual montages with control over framing, motion, and content of every shot.

• Visual montages. Works in Guided Edit or Multi Edit. Plan the edit, find relevant footage, and assemble it into a coherent story. You can prompt for actions, characters, camera moves, lighting, or any combination.
• B-roll over A-story. Layer archival or reaction shots over interviews automatically.
• Visual promos. Try something like "make a dramatic 15-second promo that opens with action shots and ends on a killer sound up." It works.

Story Engine 2

We rebuilt our story engine from the ground up. It's up to 5x faster, follows complex multi-step prompts more accurately, and gives editors precise control over timing, format, and structure.

• Follow complex instructions. Ask Quickture to generate ten promos for different demographics and it will deliver, then explain its choices in the Response Notes.
• Precise time control. Story Engine 2 hits timing targets accurately, even on short promo edits.
• Accurate paper edits. When you're editing to a script, the engine follows your guidelines closely to assemble the cut.
• Surgical revisions. Trim a single line or revise a 44-minute edit down to 43:30 without disturbing the rest of the cut.

A revamped Premiere Pro workflow

We overhauled the Premiere Pro integration end to end, speeding up every step from ingest to edit.

• Adobe Media Encoder export. Proxy export now runs through Adobe Media Encoder, so Premiere stays responsive while your footage ingests. No more waiting on renders.
• Instant edits. Quickture imports the full edited sequence instantly instead of building each cut one at a time. Run more edits simultaneously without interrupting your work. Multicam, merged clips, muted clips, and AV-link states are all preserved. Control Surface editing has been deprecated.

• Avid support restored for macOS Sonoma and Ventura

Bug fixes

• Fixed handling of sequence names with slashes, umlauts, and other unusual characters
• Resolved blank screen crashes in the Premiere Pro plugin
• Fixed missing sequences in the Activity List and Sequence List
• Fixed copying sequences between Avid projects, both within Avid and via file explorer bin copies
