The AI Assembly Returns to London

Last time we did this, the room filled up faster than we expected and the conversations in the bar afterwards were better than anything on the agenda. So we are doing it again, bigger.

The AI Assembly returns on Tuesday 8 September 2026, from 10:30 to 18:30, at the London Television Centre, home of BBC Studios.

What it actually is

The AI Assembly is a one day gathering for people who work in post-production and are tired of hearing about AI in the abstract.

No keynote about the future of storytelling. No panel where four people agree with each other for forty minutes. The format is simple: the companies building the tools show them working, in front of a room of editors, post supervisors, producers and finishing artists who will ask hard questions about them.

Demos run all day. Cocktails close it out.

Who is demoing

We are hosting, but the day is not about us. Live demos come from:

• Blackmagic Design
• Runway
• AudioShake

Four companies working on very different parts of the pipeline, in one room, on one day. If you have been trying to work out how these tools fit together in a real workflow rather than four separate sales calls, this is the shortcut.

Quickture will be showing our own work too, including where we are taking rough cut assembly next.

Why we host this

We spend most of our time with post teams who are under real pressure. Shorter schedules, flat budgets, and a steady drip of vendors promising that AI will fix it. Some of that promise is real. A lot of it is not, and the people who can tell the difference are the ones sitting in an edit suite at 11pm, not the ones writing the press releases.

The AI Assembly exists to put those two groups in the same room. The tool builders have to demo live. The practitioners get to push back. Everyone leaves with a clearer picture of what is genuinely usable today versus what is still a roadmap slide.

That is a more useful day than another webinar, and it is a lot more fun.

Heading to Amsterdam after?

The timing is deliberate. The AI Assembly lands three days before IBC2026 opens at the RAI, so if you are travelling for IBC anyway, London on the Tuesday makes for a straightforward run.
